Fashion Show 2004 - Scraptag Couture

 About the Show

The Fashion Design students will present their original creations in six different categories: Sportswear, swim wear, vintage re-vamped, historical garments, evening ear and scraptag couture. Scraptag Couture is defined as a new look for street wear. As well as featuring unique fashions, the fashion show production class will entertain the audience with performances by break dancers and hip hop dancer, John Bond, recently featured on Star Search.

Pamela Knights, LBCC Fashion Design Program director, states "Since the middle of the 18th century, fashion has trickled down from higher to lower echelons. But this season, designers are taking inspiration from the streets. Long Beach City College checks out what's happenin' from the streets of NYC to LA, and presents what's hot on our block."

Student entries will be judged by professionals in the design and merchandising industry. Winners will receive Golden French Curve Design Awards and industry donated scholarships.
